Kathy Wickline Casting
prides itself in delivering some of the best training in the
Philadelphia area. Our workshops are led by experienced industry
professions who are currently employed within the business;
therefore they provide students with the most up to date training.
With limited class size the student can expect a more intimate
setting providing a great deal of individual on – camera attention.
For the showcases we invite only those Producers, Directors, and
Casting Directors looking to hire actors for projects they are
currently working on. Showcases are not open to beginners. At K.W.C.
we maintain a high integrity by showcasing the more experienced
actors. Our success rate is 30% of our actors find NY representation
by doing the showcases. That’s huge! So, if you’re looking to
strengthen your skills or get your foot in the door Kathy Wickline
Casting is the place to be.
“Improvisational Comedy is a hot skill that
is increasingly in high demand. For an actor to be able to show
their lighter side and quick wit through improv is a key strength
applicable to EVERY audition. Audiences want to be entertained
today. It is a wise actor who realizes that much of what they are
auditioning for contains humor and needs comedy improv.” -
Kathy Wickline, Casting Director.
In this class teacher Bill McLaughlin uses
various techniques to allow the student to express their comedic
selves through character range, stage presence, listening and
reaction, and creative agility. Using such techniques will help you
think quickly, on your feet. (This is not a stand up comedy course)
A former student of Chicago’s renowned Second
City Bill McLaughlin will be your instructor for this course. He was
a founding member of Chicago’s City Limits, Workshop Director for
Manhattan Comedy School, and was Workshop Director of New York’s
First Amendment Improv Company for seven years, during which time he
taught none other than actor and comedian John Leguizamo.
"I enjoyed the Comedy Improv Class last
night at Wickline Casting. Bill McLaughlin surely knows what he is
teaching, and it shows. The subject matter we covered allowed for
exactly what the title of the class implies - comedic improvisation.
If the level of faculty your facility employs matches what was
available for that class, you have very good fortune. This was one I
would have regretted missing!" – Andrew Irons

Donald McKenna delivers a
class that will train the actor with intense dramatic improvisation
and scene work. It is only for the hard working artist. He will
train and challenge you to find truthful and believable character-
development. This class is for the actor who wishes to access their
emotions more readily and consistently while learning to make your
objective a first priority. Former students of Donald's still fly
him to LA to receive training, a true testimonial of what respect
and commitment he earns from his students.
“Instructor Donald McKenna is extremely knowledgeable of his
art, and very detail orientated while critiquing the students who
are aspiring to become actors. One can feel the characters he
describes through the unique presentation of them; he presents an
excellent presentation and example of how to utilize your
instrument.” – Sanch Sodbinow
“I really enjoyed the Scene Technique workshop with Donald
McKenna! It was a great experience and I learned a lot! Donald is a
wonderful instructor with tons of knowledge. I would recommend this
class to everyone!” – Susan Robinson
“Donald is an excellent teacher. He’s very
interesting to listen to and learn from, his imagination is unreal.
I enjoyed this class very much and would recommend it to
anyone.” – Travis Warke
“I just completed Donald McKenna's Scene Study Technique Class,
and I wanted to let you all know how valuable it was to me. I
learned so much about the craft of acting and how to improve and
grow as an actor. Donald is knowledgeable, creative, and so much fun. My ONLY complaint was that
6 classes wasn't enough! This class was an invaluable resource, and I
thank you so much for providing services like this.”
– Kara Shelton
