Our workshops are led by experienced industry professions who are currently employed within the business; therefore they provide students with the most up to date training. With limited class size the student can expect a more intimate setting providing a great deal of individual on – camera attention. For the showcases we invite only those Producers, Directors, and Casting Directors looking to hire actors for projects they are currently working on. Showcases are not open to beginners. At K.W.C. we maintain a high integrity by showcasing the more experienced actors. Our success rate is 30% of our actors find NY representation by doing the showcases. That’s huge! For an actor to be able to show their lighter side and quick wit through improv is a key strength applicable to EVERY audition. Audiences want to be entertained today. It is a wise actor who realizes that much of what they are auditioning for contains humor and needs comedy improv.” - Kathy Wickline, Casting Director. In this class teacher Bill McLaughlin uses various techniques to allow the student to express their comedic selves through character range, stage presence, listening and reaction, and creative agility. Using such techniques will help you think quickly, on your feet. (This is not a stand up comedy course) A former student of Chicago’s renowned Second City Bill McLaughlin will be your instructor for this course. He was a founding member of Chicago’s City Limits, Workshop Director for Manhattan Comedy School, and was Workshop Director of New York’s First Amendment Improv Company for seven years, during which time he taught none other than actor and comedian John Leguizamo. This class is conducted by Kathy Wickline. TV Hosting requires a unique ability to turn-on the immediate "likeability factor" on-camera, while successfully engaging the audience. Acting helps sure, however there are definite skills needed for hosting. Do you know how to access them during auditions? Since many of the auditions in this area require hosting skills (for TV, Infomercials, Corporate Film) this is THE one workshop you need in your skill set. Kathy Wickline is the master of host casting in this area; much of her casting projects require this. In this 2 hour class you will be introduced to the art of hosting for on-camera. It is here that you will learn how to project your personality through various roles. You will learn to trust and build on your character choices and define your ‘type’. The LA Showcase with Krisha Bullock for Kids/Teens With: LOS ANGELES CASTING DIRECTOR KRISHA BULLOCK of the hit shows "Zoey 101", "Drake & Josh", and "iCarly" on NICKELODEON!This showcase is a great opportunity to meet Los Angeles Casting Director Krisha Bullock from the hit shows "Zoey 101", "Drake & Josh" and the soon to premier, "iCarly". We are so fortunate to have a rare opportunity to have such a prestigious casting director as Krisha spend valuable time reading the best talent in our area - YOUR kids! In this showcase, Krisha Bullock and Kathy Wickline will conduct a short seminar (parent/child) about how to safely work this industry, receive auditions and callbacks, find a good agent or manager and how to support your child in this exciting industry. Registration is open for The Philly Showcase! This special event prepares talent in our area by providing the rare opportunity to meet multiple local talent agents. Having an agent in Philly is a must for all actors. The Philly Showcase is an intimate event thereby giving talent and agents more time to get to know each other. Appointments are a difficult goal to achieve even when living here and many agencies do not conduct open calls. So the Philly Showcase was created. The last showcase 65% of the talent were offered representation by at least one agency!
