Local
casting director, Kathy Wickline, created four original and
industry-accurate specialty camps. Kathy Wickline holds over
8500 credits including Academy Award winning feature films,
commercials, and TV shows. Learn what it takes to work in this
exciting and competitive industry while spending time in front
of and behind the camera. All courses are taught by industry
professionals.
Film & TV Camp
This is
Wickline Casting's original camp that started twelve years
ago. Each day is designed so children work as cast and crew
teams. Campers learn basic levels of acting, directing and
operating the camera. Script writing, storyboarding and
improvisation will also be introduced. Kids work on lots of
cool projects like commercials, film scenes, music videos and
public service announcements. Each day is different, campers
create their very own original projects as they learn the
basics of the biz. Upon completion of this camp, all original
footage will be sent to a professional editor for creation of
a DVD. Orders will be taken for purchase; Rate $46.99
including S&H.
Acting for The
Camera
This camp is for the aspiring young "stars" in your
household. It is here they will learn real auditioning skills
by working with scripts for commercials and film reads. Here
you child will learn how to characterize and follow direction,
block for camera and read with their "co-stars". Improvisation
an ad-libbing (off the script) will be taught as a basis of
creating characters. This camp is designed by casting
director, Kathy Wickline (Orders will be taken after camp
for a professionally edited dvd that will be available for
purchase).
Directing & Producing
Camp
Create original scripts, setting up shots and directing
actors. Students coordinate giving on-camera direction with
timing, framing and getting a message or mood across. Learn
how to pull a production together. This camp generally works
as a team with Film & TV Camp. (Orders will be taken
after camp for a professionally edited dvd that will be
available for purchase).
TV Hosting/News Anchoring Camp
Does
your child enjoy creating characters like their favorite TV
personalities? This camp is designed so that campers start the
fun developing their own stories by researching current events
in the news and entertainment world. (Many young journalists
make up their own exciting news.) Next teams are developed and
kids will work as hosts, reporters, camera operators and
directors by delivering under "deadlines" just like the pros.
We have a full lineup of News Anchoring and Hosting projects
and kids deliver their reports ranging from serious to
hysterically off the wall funny (campers choice, of course).
Projects change daily: Talk Shows, Sports Announcing, Weather,
Consumer Reports, Medical Reports, Field and Traffic Reporting
and TV Hosting in Music, Entertainment, Cooking, Decorating
and Home Shopping formats. Upon completion of this camp, all
original footage will be sent to a professional editor for
creation of a DVD. Orders will be taken for purchase; Rate
$46.99 including S&H.

Digital Editing
Camp
Create cool computer graphics and special effects while
working on footage of mock commercials and film scenes. You
will learn how to work with professional editing software,
just like the pros. Add your own graphics and design your own
edited pieces from wild moving figures to far out music to
create your very own dvd. Some computer knowledge is
beneficial but not necessary. Space is limited in the computer
lab so book early.

"walk the runway" and model for catalogs. Develop your

etiquette. Learn the secrets of former and current models, how
they reached the pinnacle of their trade, and what the clients
of today are looking for . Study fashion styling, voice

AND FREEDOM TO DEVELOP THEIR CREATIVE SKILLS UTILIZING SELF-EXPRESSION
THROUGH THE ON-CAMERA ARTS.
A message from Kathy Wickine, Founder
and President of Wickline Casting's Film & TV Camps:
"When I was a young girl, I had an intense interest in filmmaking and
television production and knew then that I wanted to work in the
entertainment business. I wish there had been something such as this Film
& Television Camp.
We developed the camp to present a comprehensive view
of the industry to our children. It also introduces them to the
creative arts.
It is
an exciting time in the industry and we're here to introduce your children
to the wide variety of careers available to them in television, film,
commercial and industrial production.
We
don't discount children's play as just play. We encourage their dreams and
offer support and information to help them realize those dreams."
