Wickline Acting Studio hosts special 1-day seminars, workshops, and events that are rarely offered in this market! We provide these programs to create further opportunities for you to meet with industry professionals.

 

In addition to being informative, these programs are designed to be fun and are offered at exceptionally affordable rates. While most of our one-day programs are offered frequently throughout the year, we are always working to create new programs based on demand and relevance to the current state of the local acting market.

About This Class

It's time to hone your on-camera acting skills with the talented, Melonie "Mel" Mack, Casting Associate at House Casting.

 
The day will begin with a 1-hour seminar and Q&A, in which Mel will dive into on-camera auditioning for television, industrials and commercials with a focus on how to utilize quick and easy techniques to help you “book"  the room. 


Mel will also provide easy tips and tricks to maximize your self-tape auditions. Talent is highly encouraged to ask questions following the seminar! 


The day will conclude with a 3-hour workshop which will focus on how to effectively work on-camera while bringing the copy alive with your unique, authentic point of view. 

About Mel Mack

Mel Mack has works in the entertainment in NYC and L.A.and sees over 20,000 actors a year in the audition room. She loves helping actors find connection, choices and timing and knows what works in the audition room. 


Mel is a loved and respected Casting Associate and Acting Coach who has  worked on hundreds of National and Regional commercials! Mel works with some of the best industry leaders in the business and is a renowned name in the business.

About This Class

This is a fast paced practical introduction to discovering your voice, becoming aware of habits that might keep you from being cast and building your overall awareness and confidence in the audition room, on set, stage, or in the boardroom. You will leave with new awareness and practical exercises to build your skills and overcome roadblocks. Every student will have a chance to receive individual coaching.

Class exercises will include articulation and vowel pronunciation, rhythm and inflection, and learning about how tension affects performance and speech.

You are a working actor, but are you tending to your voice? Taking it for granted? Are you giving your voice the training it deserves? Expose your tendencies and identify regionalism (many have this!) in this highly supportive class environment.

 

Talent are encouraged to record Before and After clips on your smartphone! 

About Susanne Sulby

Susanne Sulby has been teaching and acting for over 30 years. She is currently dialect coaching an HBO series in the Philadelphia area. Other recent projects included 21 Bridges with Chadwick Bosman, JK Simmons and Sienna Miller. Her teaching career began at the University of the Arts in 1986 and over the years has included numerous performing arts companies and institutions of higher learning.  In addition, Ms. Sulby has maintained a private practice of acting, dialect coaching, accent reduction and corporate training for the past 30 years. Utilizing skills from the theatrical world along with training from internationally known corporate coaches like Anthony Robbins and Landmark Worldwide. Ms. Sulby helps her clients gain skills in public speaking, leadership, and creativity as they would apply to the work environment.  

 

She served as Dialect coach for Jacki Weaver (Academy Nominee, Animal Kingdom) in Silver Linings Playbook, directed by David O. Russell. Other dialect coaching credits include 1776 at the Ford’s Theatre directed by Peter Flynn, dialect coach for Razaaq Adoti (Amastad, Blackhawk Down) on ‘Cover’ directed by Bill Duke (Predator, X  Men), among others.

Why do you need a professional demo reel?

This is a chance to book time with a professional recording artist from East Coast Recording at Wickline Casting. This demo reel will become your resume and will help to open doors for future work. There are thousands of media outlets in the digital world that are looking for voice over actors.

What’s Included in VO Recording Day?

  • Talent will end up with 5-7 separate, professionally recorded, mixed, and mastered voice over demos

  • Final high quality audio files will be converted to MP3’s for uploading to the internet

  • Royalty free music beds and sound effects will be mixed into your demo

  • Demo Copy will be sent after registration. You may select 5-7 scripts based on what you feel suits you best!

  • Talent may put down a deposit to secure one of the recording times throughout the day. Limited to 7 appointment times. Spots go quickly! Call office for availability.

  • Recording times will be given upon registration
